We recognize that people learn in different ways, but that having hands-on experiences with art-making materials is vital to being able to make things well and to solve creative problems. Our learning engagements emphasize time and space to practice, make, fail, get and give feedback, and to experiment. Art-making is not separate from our daily concerns or life experiences. We explore the ways history, systems of organizing people, economies, and the natural environment impact art- and culture-making; and how art shapes us.
Viadukt offers classes for beginners, school classes, individual groups and advanced classes with guest hosts. After attending a beginner’s class you can use the studio on various offers for your creative work.
Screen Printing Classes for Beginners
In our screen print classes you learn all about the basics and characteristics of silkscreen printing in a small group of four to six people. We show you the working steps and equipment in the studio and introduce you to the art of printing.
You will learn what the special features and advantages of screen printing are, how the templates for the print have to be created, and how you will be able to best realise your own print ideas. For our Beginner Workshop you don’t need any previous knowledge of screen printing. You can design your motif analogue or digitally and print either on fabric or paper. Each participant has a maximum print area of A3, but this could also consist of two different A4 motifs. To ensure a successful introduction to the printing technique, we will only use monochrome motifs.

Open Printing Sessions / Supervised Working
You can screen print, but you are still too insecure to book a studio rental in the workshop?
Starting in March 2023, there will be supervised work sessions every last Monday of the month from 5:00pm – 9:00pm. This is an opportunity to work on your own projects in a small group of no more than 3 people, develop new approaches, and experiment with screen printing techniques. If you have any questions, one of our printers will be available to assist you. You should already have knowledge and experience in screen printing and have attended our introductory course.

Advanced Screen Printing Classes - CMYK on paper
In the intermediate screen printing classes we expand our knowledge of printing techniques and the possibilities of their use in the artistic practice.
In the CMYK workshop you will learn how to create a professional DIN A3 CMYK screen print in the edition of 20 prints on paper.
During the two days of the workshop (10:00 – 18:00) you will learn how to prepare a four-layer CMYK screen print first in Photoshop, then expose, register and print it.
Previous screen printing knowledge and experience is absolutely required to participate in this workshop. Therefore, you must have attended our beginner class beforehand.
What to bring:
A laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed is an advantage, but not a must.
A finished A5 photo design in PSD format or as JPEG/PDF with 300 dpi.
Color and paper are included in the price.
After attending the workshop you will receive a handout with all important information.
